Here’s something of which will interest you all ;)

Before we begin, we need to take care of a few things.

Now lets get to work

Screenshot 1

Extract the downloaded zip file and run the file “Far.exe”

Screenshot 2

Once the program has loaded, press “F11″ on the keyboard, to load the pop-up menu, which shows you all the plug-ins

Screenshot 3

Click on “SEFP2″, this is the plugin which lets you access your phone

Screenshot 4

Click on “Connect”, to start the connection process

Screenshot 5

Turn off your phone, then press and hold the “C” button on your phone’s keypad. Whilst holding the button, plugin the cable.
If the “C” button does not work, you can try holding the buttons “2″ & “5″ together.

Screenshot 6

Navigate to where your menu is stored on your computer using the left hand column.

Navigate to /tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash using the right hand column.

NB “..” – if you click this, then you will go to the parent folder.

Screenshot 7

Click the menu you want to upload on the left hand column, and drag it onto the right hand column

Screenshot 8

Click on “Copy”, which will upload a copy of the file onto your phone

Screenshot 9

Now click on “Quit”, when you have finished uploading all the menus onto your phone

Screenshot 10

Click on “Yes” to exit the program

That concludes the tutorial, if you want to link this flash menu to a different theme, then view this tutorial and skip to part 2

If you get any problems, then just post a comment. Thanks

I m using Sony Ericsson Hazel (J20i). Far manager can’t detect my phone. What can I do?

    • kr8ter says:

Hi Tanim, try turning off your phone, press and hold the ‘C’ button, then plug in the cable. If it still doesn’t work, try downloading the Sony Ericsson Update Service, as that contains the drivers required to communicate with the phone.

  3. ezand says:

IT DOESNT WORK HOLDING C OR 2N5…

  4. ezand says:

I to try downloading the Sony Ericsson Update Service, but there is no phone hazel model..

    • kr8ter says:

Hi ezand, I can assure you that Hazel is in the list. Click on the third icon under the heading ‘Show this type’, and the phone is the second one on the top row.

how to connect my phone if i use card reader?

    • kr8ter says:

Hi silvia, to install a flash menu, you have to connect the phone directly to the computer using the USB cable that came with the phone.

  6. silvia says:

But i don’t have usb cable.I only use card reader.

    • kr8ter says:

Hi silvia, unfortunately, to install flash menus, you need to use the USB cable to access the phone’s firmware. I find quite unusual that you don’t have a cable, as all Sony Ericsson phones come with one. Anyway, you can still install themes by just copying them to the ‘themes’ folder on your memory card.

  7. Raymond says:

Hi KR8TER thank you for sharing this, by the way will this method/flashing work on Sony Ericsson ELM J10i2? Because I don’t want my phone to be damaged after flashing

Thanks in advance for answering my question

  8. Cyber says:

Hi kr8ter im using a sony erricson Cedar. I have installed Far manager V 2.0b and sefp2w plugin. But when i try to connect my phone using far manager it , doesnt connect and my update service is latest. Pls Help me as i wanna install flash themes and enjoy a lil more frm my phone

    • kr8ter says:

Hi Cyber, if you are able to connect to the update service, then FarManager should work, since they both use the same method of connecting to the phone. You could try turning the phone off, taking the battery out, putting it back in again, hold the button ‘C’ down and connect the USB cable.

  9. asd says:

i have done it successfully but i can’t find the flash theme in my phone(location).please help

    • kr8ter says:

Hi asd, first make sure the flash menu is installed in ‘/tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash’, now check to see if you linked the theme with the flash menu (scroll to the bottom, of this tutorial), finally make sure you installed the correct theme onto your phone

Hello, I have an SE ELM.

    1) I’ve managed to access the phone trough Farmanager form this site, but from http://www.farmanager.com dose not have the menu with SPEF2 and I just wonder why, should I add something in the folder to plugins or settings?

    2) What is menu.swf from this tutorial and from where can be that downloaded?

I was trying this because I found some themes that are made for se ELM and they dosen’t work, and I was supposing that I need to install something related to adobe flash player or shock wave player

    • kr8ter says:

Hi doctortonic, the FarManager from this site already has the SEFP2 plugin installed, if you download it from FarManager’s own website, then you will need to install the SEFP2 plugin. Also, the ‘menu.swf’ is an example given in the tutorial, you can download any of the Flash Lite 3.x themes on this site, as they will all work on your phone. Make sure the flash menu is installed on the phone in this location: ‘/tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash’, otherwise it will not load.

  11. Ken says:

    Will it work for zylo!

    • kr8ter says:

Hi Ken, yeah, this will work on the Zylo, also all the flash themes on this site which state they support Flash Lite 3, will work on your phone.

  12. ken says:

    • kr8ter says:

Hi ken, I have added themes to all of the shake controlled flash menus, which were keyless shake laser precision menu, keyless shake music menu and keyless shakemas menu.

  13. vegeta says:

hey kr8ter,..are u there on facebook..?:)

    • kr8ter says:

Hi vegeta, the website does have a Facebook page, which can be accessed from the box in the sidebar, on the top right side of the page.

  14. vegeta says:

hey kr8ter..does this site have any motion related themes..?

    • kr8ter says:

Hi vegeta, we do have many motion related themes, If you put your mouse over the ‘Themes’ on the menu at the top of the page, you will see a drop down. Floating, Follow Me, Rotating and Shake are all motion sensored.
We also have motion sensored menus such as Call of Duty, Hello Kitty, Keyless Shake (use the search box on the site, to find these menus)

  15. vegeta says:

hey kr8ter,..i have downloaded many flash menu themes frm various sites..they come in zip format..when i xtract the file,i get 2 files, the theme file and the swf file..when i put these files into my phn the theme works and d swf file remains as a seperate file..the flash menu of the theme doesnt work..and when i view the swf file i cn c it as a normal flash file..hw to use the swf file as my menu..?thanx in advance..

    • kr8ter says:

Hi vegeta, to use the flash menu, you have to install it using FarManager, by copying the swf flash menu file, into ‘/tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash’.

Once you have done this, then the theme file will load the flash menu.
